ABOUT LAURA COLLINS BRITTON

Originally from North Carolina, I am a documentary and  fine art photographer currently based in Chicago.  In addition to photography, I practice and teach law. 

My early photographs were primarily fine art images. Over the last few years, though, I have begun to develop a body of work documenting the moment when people are focused outward: on a social cause, a performance, devotion to others. In a self-conscious world, the real power lies in the moments when we forget ourselves. I seek to capture those moments.
