Originally from North Carolina, I am a documentary, travel and fine art photographer currently based in Chicago.  In addition to photography, I practice and teach law.

My early photographs were primarily fine art images of nature and architecture. Over the last few years, though, I have begun to develop a body of work documenting protests and strikes. I'm fascinated by the raw power of a group assembled in the street to further a movement.  These images convey the feel of each event through its people and their signs, through weather and light, through motion and stillness.

I have lived and traveled all over the world, and have authored numerous travel essays.  I love words in any language.

Yet the more I have traveled, the more I have come to understand the far greater power of one glimpse of something fleeting.  I hope to show you just that.

Thanks for looking.
